JRR Tolkien translated the Silmarillion from secret Atlantean history. GRR Martin sold his soul to the Devil to write the Reptilian version of our future.
Epic fantasy indeed.

Westeros vs Westernesse
JRR Tolkien and George RR Martin are rival titans of popular Western epic fantasy, with opposing moral alignments. Both authors wrote popular series: Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire, respectively.
Both Tolkien and GRRM write from a UK-centric perspective. Tolkien's Hobbits are quintessentially English. GRRM's Westeros is the United Kingdom plus Ireland flipped at the south end. The Wall of Ice is Hadrian's Wall. Westeros' Starks are Yorks, and Lannisters are Lancasters, repeating the War of the Roses.
Fantasy becomes popular in dark historical times, such as WW1-WW2, or the decline of the US thalassocracy amidst the Anthropocene extinction's accelerando. Tolkien teaches hard-won mythic truths about collapse, as does GRRM. Let's examine how the two authors wound up on opposite sides.
Tinuviel
Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. JRR Tolkien, a handsome 5'9" fellow, wrote to extol the Good, the Beautiful and the True. Tolkien could've written enough orc rape scenes to make GRRM envious (and horny). But Tolkien didn't, because rape disgusted him. Tolkien married his childhood true love, who chose him over money, family and religion.
Behold Tolkien's wife, his inspiration for Tinuviel:
I always wondered why he liked dark hair.
Wormtongue
Consider who is today's Wormtongue. Who preaches hope and heroism, and who despair and vice?
From Grima Wormtongue | The LotR Wiki:
…weakening the ailing king's mind and body with his deceitful counsels and subtle poisons administered as remedies for old age.
It is likely that Saruman had promised him Éowyn, the king's niece, as a reward for his services; Wormtongue is accused of "watching her under his lids and haunting her steps." It is also possible that he had Dunlending ancestry, since he was darker-haired and physically smaller than the other Rohirrim.
Creepy, isn't he? Yet his argument for allying with Saruman is the same Machiavellian logic GRRM preaches in A Song of Ice and Fire (ASoIaF). Pure cold-blooded pragmatism is appropriate for reptiles not mammals, as Wormtongue discovers.

Forlorn
Who is short, obese, awkward, and lusts for women he cannot have? George RR Martin.
Searching photos of GRRM's romantic partners yields no inspirations comparable to Tinuviel. GRRM's first wife wouldn't follow him to Sante Fe, much less wait through years of no-contact interrupted courtship and WW1 like Tolkien's wife did. GRRM is childless.
However, GRRM was getting dumped long before he got married. He was the heartbroken, not the heartbreaker, and it influenced his fiction heavily:
ASoIaF characters Tyrion Lannister, Varys the eunuch, and Samwell Tarly are authorial self-inserts compensating for GRRM's faults of shortness, emasculation and obesity, respectively.
Nihilist
GRRM's fiction belongs to the subversive category, and cannot outlive the temporary cultural milieu which it deconstructed, as so many other popular works are overlooked by future generations, to whom his nihilism will be no novelty.
Care to read Gargantua and Pantagruel? Most have no interest in biting Enlightenment deconstructions of the medieval Catholic church.

Mordor
Fans of GRRM claim he pioneered morally gray characters. What he actually wrote was moral nihilism, and it is not new.
A strong place and wonderful was Isengard […] Saruman had slowly shaped it to his shifting purposes, and made it better, as he thought, being deceived-for all those arts and subtle devices, for which he forsook his former wisdom, and which fondly he imagined were his own, came but from Mordor; so that what he made was naught, only a little copy, a child's model or a slave's flattery, of that vast fortress, armoury, prison, furnace of great power, Barad-dûr, the Dark Tower, which suffered no rival, and laughed at flattery, biding its time, secure in its pride and its immeasurable strength.
JRR vs GRR is Catholic saint vs lapsed aint for the soul of Western Civilization.
(Tolkien is as yet uncanonized, but a candidate.)
Veil
That painting is just a metaphor… right? Why would souls be valuable enough for galactic superpowers to wage propaganda wars over?
Tolkien borrowed heavily from a source of inspiration held in restricted libraries. Númenor's aftermath name was "Atalantë".

[PIC: Alpha Thetan Dark Lord]
Interdimensional beings are inherently shapeshifters. Baphomet/Basmet is one of the Alpha Thetans residing in Saturn, the "Dark Lords" of the ringed planet. These Dark Lords have a few main forms, one of which is a goat god, because they have "eaten" so many goats sacrificed by humans. The goat god has been called Baphomet, Pan, etc.
Dark entities feed on low-vibration energies released by bloodshed, sex, pain, fear, anger and death. This helps sustain them, as they are cut off from the Divine. Humans are not cut off from the Divine, so we can have children with normal souls, although we only live about 100 years, due to our supply of spiritual Vitality/Influence being limited due to past transgressions. Aging is both a biological and a spiritual process.
Lapsed Catholic
Would GRRM make a bargain with the Devil? Let's examine his religious views.
GRRM is a lapsed Catholic. CelebAtheists.com claims GRRM as one of their own. He does not believe in a good God:
"And as for the gods, I’ve never been satisfied by any of the answers that are given. If there really is a benevolent loving god, why is the world full of rape and torture? Why do we even have pain?"
"You would call me an atheist or an agnostic," GRRM said. Perhaps, but that's not how he writes his fiction.
The Faith of the Seven represents the Catholic Church, and is the only false religion in the world. Google it to verify this is the fandom consensus. It is basically a religion made in the image of man, and thus enjoys great popularity and influence in the Seven Kingdoms.
Cersei's defeat of the Faith of the Seven represents Feminism's triumph over the Catholic Church in the West.
In the world of Westeros, all magic flows from the dragons, whose return permits the other gods to exercise power again. Sounds Reptilian.
GRRM says he finds religion and spirituality fascinating, and that he is open to persuasion, if he sees a miracle. Perhaps he has been persuaded, or at least impressed.
R'hllor Lucifer
From R'hllor | A Wiki of Ice and Fire:
The religion is based on a dualistic, manichean view of the world: R'hllor, the god of light, heat, and life, and R'hllor's antithesis the Great Other, the god of ice and death.[6] They are locked in an eternal struggle over the fate of the world; a struggle that, according the ancient prophecies from the books of Asshai, will only end when Azor Ahai, the messianic figure, returns wielding a flaming sword called Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and raises dragons from stone.[6]
R’hllor is also called the Lord of Light, the Heart of Fire, the God of Flame and Shadow.[1][6] His nemesis, the Great Other, whose name may not be spoken, is known as the Lord of Darkness, the Soul of Ice, the God of Night and Terror.[6][7]
The red priests of R'hllor associate fire with life. They see shadows as creations of the Lord of Light, who are the servants of light and the children of fire.[8] According to the priestess Melisandre, the Lord of Light cherishes innocent and beautiful people and items, making them the most precious sacrifice.
The old false dilemma: "Sacrifice babies to me or the ice zombies will get you."
Since fire dragons are the source of magic, R'hllor's faith is the true one. Thus there is no good Divine in GRRM's cosmology, only a manichean battle between Lucifer and Ahriman. Only the White Walkers can raise an ice dragon, because they serve the Great Other, R'hllor's opposite. What the dragons burn, R'hllor savors.
Please understand, I'm not saying paganism is evil, or that Christianity is good. I'm saying R'hllor is evil:
According to the priestess Melisandre, the Lord of Light cherishes innocent and beautiful people and items, making them the most precious sacrifice.
Melisandre is the scarlet woman, whore of Bablyon, who serves R'hllor, and doubtless sacrifices her own babies to him.
The Great Other also wants infant sacrifice, using Craster's babies to make more White Walkers.
Game Of Thrones: What The White Walkers Do With The Babies | ScreenRant
For a guy who doesn't believe in the supernatural, GRRM sure seems to have picked a side. Maybe it's just the Catholic God he doesn't believe in.
Reptilian R'hllor
Calling R'hllor "Lucifer" or even "Mithras" is too generous. ASoIaF is not about the Lightbringer. GRRM is a relativist who doesn't believe in enlightenment.
R'hllor's faith of ice and fire reflects cold-blooded reptilian psychology in which being warm is good, feeling cold is bad, and babies are delicious. Red is the favorite Reptilian color, because predators like blood.
R'hllor's prophesied messiah Azor Ahai is no Lightbringer, merely another minion of the saturnine Dark Lords, his power earned by sacrificing his beloved wife to them. His sword burns with the fires of Hell, not the light of dawn.
Azor Ahai is prophesied to raise dragons from stone. This is a thinly-disguised prophecy that the Antichrist will lead lithosphere Reptilians back up to Earth's surface. We might even see some intelligent raptors. Jurassic Park was predictive programming.
"R'hllor" sounds like "Royal Holy Lord". Eva Draconis documents Reptilian obsession with royalty.
Why do Reptilians emphasize royalty? Monarchy is the form of social organization that distinguishes Reptilians from Insectoids, who tend to be hiveminded and eusocial. Reptilians evolved individuality, and the king is their strongest individual. (Strength is measured in psychic power, not just muscles and claws.) This is their contribution to the evolution of consciousness.
Who enjoys animal sacrifice? Carnivores prefer juvenile prey, for the same reason humans like lamb. Lacerta describes her race as obligate carnivores, unlike humans.
GRRM wrote about magic returning with dragons. Reptilians call themselves "dragons" euphemistically; see r/ReptilianDude. Contact with non-humans is accelerating. Medvedev already made the Disclosure announcement for Russia. Suspicious timing.
The Game of Thrones is about sociopathic nobles jockeying for power beneath the shadow of dragon gods returned. Sounds like the inspiration of a saturnine reptilian mind.
Varys' flames
All this is speculation without a confession. Let's see whether a self-insert character gives us one.
Varys is the strongest of the three self-inserts. His omniscience matches that of the author's own POV. Even his resistance to Danaerys proves prophetic. His noble patriotic death proves that he was the only one fit to rule.
Varys is a Targaryan, a Blackfyre to be specific. He, not the dwarf, is the true hero of the story: the secret king. This is a story that can have no happy ending, because the true king has already been castrated.
Only Varys talked to R'hllor, and that Voice is the only thing he fears.

Voice in the head
George RR Martin on the Voice Varys Heard in the Flames | YouTube
The Voice didn't speak from the fire. It spoke in Varys' head. That's why the sorcerer threw Varys away as "useless", instead of using his blood and body for more sacrifices. The sorcerer concluded that the sacrifice failed because Varys wasn't of kingly blood. But the Voice had other plans.
GRRM seems genuinely agnostic, so maybe he made a deal with something he isn't sure is real, a voice in his head, like Scott Adams did recently.
(Another public psychic contact. Things are heating up. One might even say magic is returning. I wonder if it has something to do with the ominously overperforming solar cycle 25?)
This might explain why Varys is afraid of the Voice in the fire: GRRM is also afraid of the Voice that answered long ago.
We've all said things in our hearts in desperate moments that we would regret being held to. Despair over yet another girlfriend leaving might drive a lapsed Catholic and mediocre writer to offer his soul to the Devil in exchange for fame. A Devil who has tail, horns and scales, like a dinosaur… or a dragon.
Tell us your bargain, GRRM. We want to know how the Song ends.
